Production time
All items are made to order to ensure freshness. Through winter, most orders ship out after 3-5 business days. From early spring through summer (February - August) production will take 1-2 weeks and sometimes more.
Bigger orders will take longer. Orders placed for future events will have delayed shipping according to the event date and are timed to arrive closer to the event to promote freshness and to aid our management of order flow. Orders of thousands of items are accepted and have a production time that depends on the quantity and nature of the item. If you need to receive your order by a date certain time, or have production questions for large or custom orders, please contact us.
Shipping
We ship via the most convenient, reliable and lowest cost method available which is currently USPS. Your order will ship Parcel, First Class, or Priority depending on what is the lowest cost option. You may upgrade to faster delivery. All orders include tracking. When your order ships, a confirmation is emailed to you along with a direct link to online package tracking. Please be aware Parcel and First Class packages can take up to 1 week or more to arrive.
Orders needed extremely urgently can usually only ship via a 2-business day minimum and may ship via UPS, FedEx, or USPS Express. Overnight delivery options are limited and very costly even for small and lightweight items, but is sometimes possible. If you need an order overnighted, please contact us.
Yes, we ship internationally to some locations. Due to customs restrictions on seeds, we do not to ship to New Zealand. Very large international orders will require a phytosanitary certificate and require several months of preparation. If you may require a large international order, please contact us.
Please contact us if you have questions about shipping to your country.
Seed Type
Our seed paper contains a carefully chosen mix of garden flower seeds. We have chosen them for their ability to embed well in paper, grow well from it, and sprout without too much difficulty. We have also chosen seeds that are environmentally appropriate to plant where they are most likely to bloom. Our standard mix grows bast in gardening zones 3-11. The flower varieties are all well established in North America, Europe and many other parts of the world.
Our flower seed mix includes annuals, for first year color, and perennials for blooms in the years to follow. The seeds include zinnia, marigolds, cosmos, red and pink poppies, snapdragons, calendula, shasta daisies, black-eyed susans, sweet Williams/dianthus, columbines, cornflowers, and godetia.
Germinating seeds is simple but not foolproof. When the time is right for your climate, plant the seed paper under a thin layer of fertile soil in warm sunlight and keep it damp. After the paper has been damp for at least 4-10 days, you'll see the first sprouts emerge. Seeds will all sprout at different times. You may wish to tear the paper into smaller pieces and scatter for planting in more than one location or pot. For container planting, start your seeds in a small, two inch pot and then transfer to a larger pot or garden for prolonged growth. Annuals tend to sprout sooner and require warmer temperatures (70ºF). Perennials need two full seasons to grow.
Warmth and sunlight will help the seeds grow. Seeds can be started indoors, and we wholly recommend that as a great way to keep a watchful eye on them. Sprouts should be transplanted outside as soon as weather permits so they can have their best chance at flowering in full, direct sunlight. Grow lights are helpful to encourage stronger growth indoors. If planting directly outside, be mindful of watering needs, available sunlight, and pests. Seeds should never be set and left as they will not thrive without loving attention.
Environmental responsibility
Keeping with an environmentally responsible shop, we use a minimum amount of packaging and tend to not offer very many products that are individually packaged. We do have a few items that do include packaging and in those cases, they are either biodegradable or re-usable, and in many cases the plastic included with your order may be made entirely from plants/corn and be usable as a little greenhouse to encourage seed sprouting. We do no use and do not encourage single use plastic. Everything we use is designed to be re-used and recycled, preferably by composting it.Return policy
Due to the custom made and perishable nature of our product, we cannot accept returns on most items and do not accept returns of specific color assortments or personalized items. Make your purchases carefully. We recommend ordering a sample if you have a lot of time before you need to place and receive a larger order. Samples are a great way to see and feel the product in person and also try it out.
Items containing printed materials and personalized ones cannot be returned. However, if you have received printed material with an error caused by us, please contact us within 24 hours of item receipt to arrange for a correction. If time permits, we will re-print and send replacement cards at no cost to you. If the error is a typo that you made during ordering, we cannot be held responsible. Be sure to carefully type in your text as we copy and paste this directly into the layout for the cards. If you find there is a mistake that you made in typing, we can arrange for a re-print of the cards or send you a self-print file at a reduced cost. This is especially helpful if the time frame is tight.
We are unable to correct mistakes closer than one week to the event date for US orders and 4 weeks for International orders.
